June 28, 2016 – Psalm 16:8-9

Psalm16-8-9I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. Psalm 16:8-9When things become mixed up in our minds, or we feel uncomfortable, we remember these verses.  When we let Jesus into our hearts and minds, our body is not anxious.  The inside of us knows gladness and rejoices, no matter what happens. Some cultures and trends of beliefs is to not believe in anything you cannot see.  This means we would not believe in the wind.  This means we would not believe in Jesus, or his Father in Heaven.  One of the first verses that has been with me for a lifetime is found in Matthew 28:20b -“…and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”That is the continuous promise until the world ends.  Jesus is not part time Friend.  Jesus has all the time in the world to be with us, and sends the Holy Spirit to teach us and guide us in His way of life.  One of our sons once said, “When Dad is home, I feel safe and I know everything is OK!”  Just the presence of Dad is all it takes.  When we trust and love God, the One Who created the everything around us, we are never alone and we can feel safe. The Joy of His Presence gives us peace and teaches us how to love.  He feeds our souls, He gives us rest and renews our strength.  He teaches us how to live in the New World, Heaven, that He is creating for an eternity of living with Him.He walks with me and talks with me and tells me, I am His very own!  He is waiting for us to call on Him, to walk with us.You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Psalm 16:11
