June 21, 2021 – Psalm 46:1-4
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah! There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. Psalm 46:1-4.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10. Fear is an enemy that only disappears when we realize how God loves and cares for us. We fear death, and the thought of death.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because He first loved us. I John 4:18-19.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.
Dear Lord in Heaven, Creator of all things, help us to know You and exalt You above all else. I pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? Psalm 56:3-4.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, how He has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:8-10.
