June 21, 2018 – Matthew 6:28-29

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.” Matthew 6:28-29.

How often I have said or heard, But this sweater doesn’t match, I don’t have a thing to wear, or I need something new to wear?  It isn’t the outer clothing that counts, but the inner heart and mind.

Our Creator and Redeemer does not judge us by what we wear, for He sees our hearts.  I Samuel 1:16:7 – But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

We control our minds by what we think day by day. This makes how we appear to our Lord.  It is what we see, what we read, and what we hear that forms our thoughts.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.  Philippians 4:8.

How we love others is tempered by how we forgive others and live in peace.

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.  Colossians 3:13-15.

God takes care of us – Give thanks to the Lord!

“And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?” Matthew 6:30.
