The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:7Every verse I saw shows that a song is used for supplication to the Lord, thanksgiving and victory. God creates songs in our hearts to let him know that we love him, no matter what. Is it any wonder that words well up within our hearts…? This is the way we communicate. A melody, a rhythm and a harmony enrich the words and make them a prayer and a praise. This morning I look out on a beautiful morning, 79 F degrees now, and see birds, a bush laden with pink blooms. My dear husband decides to dress, so he can go where they put horse shoes on…so he is in another world again. If he sits down to rest, he will fall asleep. It is almost like a story that takes him from this place to another place he has known. Very seldom does he live in this world with me.As I watch him I remember his clear answer yesterday when I asked him who Jesus is. “Jesus is my Lord and Savior.” No doubt in his mind. Even though he asked, shortly after I wrote the snippet yesterday how we are connected. “How did we meet?” “Were we together before we moved here?”Although he forgot me in that moment after 62 and 1/2 years of marriage, my husband has not forgotten the Giver of Life Eternal. This makes my heart break out in song. A song of praise and victory. A song of thanksgiving. No matter what the days and the weeks and the months bring, we are connected each moment in an everlasting mutual admiration and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. I cherish each moment I have with my husband. There is an unbroken bond between us, not just of marriage, whether one of us doesn’t remember or not. Our unbroken bond IS Jesus Christ! But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever.Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.Psalm 5:11
