June 19, 2020 – John 15:12-15

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. John 15:12-15.

Again, not a suggestion, not a wish, but a command, Love one another.  What do we hear from our Father God?  Are we listening?  Do we understand why we were created and why we were chosen by God?

We were not chosen to be comfortable, not be well, or have all things we desire handed to us.  We were chosen to bear fruit – by the way we live as we abide in our Father’s will.

We were made for relationship, and the fruit of the Spirit is our treasure. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.  Desiring to live in purity, is a pathway of loving others.

Dear Eternal God,  Help me to love others, even as Jesus Christ loves, and died on the cross, rising again from death. He taught us how to love. Help me to live in the fruit of spirit of His great Love and trust in Him.  I pray in the name of Jesus!

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another. John 15: 16-17.
