June 17, 2016 – Hebrews 1:11-12

Hebrews1-11-12They will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing. You will fold them up like a cloak and discard them like old clothing. But you are always the same; you will live forever.” Hebrews 1:11-12How we abhor something that has lost its value to us and exchange it for something new.  Garage sales would not be in existence without that innate desire for something new.  Our clothes may not be in style and the desire grows for new  clothing.  It is an attempt to renew our lives.  Yet, our new, becomes old.  There is one part of our lives that will never grow old.  Jesus.  Jesus never grows old, He is ageless in his message and in his life.  He lives forever.  When we become a part of Jesus through living His Words and being washed clean of our sins in the water, we join Him.  Our souls never grow old.  And we will live forever with Jesus.God said to Jesus, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand!”  God humbled the enemies of Jesus and makes them his foot stool.  God also created the angels as His Servants.  They are sent to care for people who will inherit the salvation; for those who believe in Jesus, have faith in Him, and have put on Christ Jesus.  Salvation is for those who clothe themselves in the love of Jesus. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s  faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:11-13  Choose Jesus!Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.  Colossians 3:10

And God never said to any of the angels, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.” Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.  Hebrews 1:13-14
