June 10, 2020 – Psalm 118:23-24
This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:23-24.
What is the Lord’s doing? Why is it marvelous? The mystery is revealed in the four preceding verses. Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it. I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. Psalm 118:19-22.
Is the cornerstone a secret, hidden from us? Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, makes the cornerstone known. “Let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by Him this man is standing before you well. This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23.
Dear Father God, Each morning I rise, giving Thanks to You. You are my God and I worship You. You bring the Hope of Salvation and steadfast Love through Your Son Jesus. I will sing praise to your Name, O most High Lord God. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
You are my God, and I will give thanks to You; You are my God; I will extol you. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 118:28-29.
