July 9, 2018 – Job 28:23-26
“God alone understands the way to wisdom; He knows where it can be found, for He looks throughout the whole earth and sees everything under the heavens. He decided how hard the winds should blow and how much rain should fall. He made the laws for the rain and laid out a path for the lightning.” Job 28:23-26.
When we see, we only see in part. God sees everything under the heavens. He makes decisions as to how hard the wind will blow. He decides how much rain will fall. We simply try to measure what God decided. God lays out a path for the lightning in the sky. That jagged streak of light only lasts for an instant. It doesn’t happen by chance but planned and executed by our Lord God.
God knows where to find wisdom. He evaluated it and set it in place. When Solomon, son of David, was made King, God asked Solomon in a dream what he wanted. Solomon’s answer? “Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?” I Kings 3:9.
What is wisdom? It doesn’t come long life; it comes from understanding and forsaking evil. It comes from a desire to please God. Solomon was gifted with a wise and understanding heart plus riches and a long life from God the Father.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5.
“Then He saw wisdom and evaluated it. He set it in place and examined it thoroughly. And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’” Job 28:27-28.
