July 7, 2020 – 2 Peter 3:4b-6
Ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation. For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of the water, and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 2 Peter 3:4b-6.
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. Genesis 1:1. He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will. Ephesians 1:4-5.
Just as God protected Noah during the flood, He protects us, by sending Jesus to the world. Jesus is coming back. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. John 14:3.
Even as Noah waited and built the ark, and was saved, we shall wait… Wait for the Lord and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land. Psalm 37:34a.
Dear Father in Heaven, Help us to wait for the Lord. Help us to wait for His gift of salvation and glory. May we live so that others may know You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
In His time, in His time, He makes all things beautiful in His time… (Maranatha!).
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill is promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9.
