July 29, 2015 – Philippians 1:6

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6As the Queen of the Unfinished, this verse in Philippians gives me hope and peace, to know that I am a work in process. He will complete me so that I know I am ready for all that God promises.  The Lord Jesus is coming again to take those who love and believe and obey home.  Doesn’t that have a delightful sound?  Home!“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.  There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”  John 14:1-2This is a promise and Jesus is a Finisher.  On the cross, as He died for us, He, said, “It is finished.”  Jesus finished his ministry on the earth, to teach his ambassador’s the truth, the life and the way.  He showed us the way of love, joy and hope and then He went up in a cloud to be with Father God, to sit in the place of honor, on the right hand of His Father.What did the disciples do?  They went everywhere teaching and preaching and miraculous signs confirming the words of Jesus. What will we do?  What spiritual seeds are we sowing with our lives?  Every day our words and deeds are our message, the seeds we sow.When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs. Mark 16:19-20
