July 24, 2020 – Ephesians 4:1-3

I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3.

How is the manner in which we live worthy of our Lord God? It is described with four ways.  Humility, Gentleness with Patience, and bearing with one another in love.  Humility is simply loving one another, more than we love ourselves.   Gentleness is tenderly adoring and caring for others.  And bearing with one another is forgiving others even as Jesus forgives us.

Oneness is our gift of hope.  Our God, and His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are ONE,  even as this triune is One in the Lord, One Faith, One baptism, and One God and Father of All. As Jesus prepared to die for our sins,  He left a Helper.  And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,  even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him,  for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17.

Our Lord in Heaven, We pray for unity in our churches even as God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit is One. We give thanks and rejoice in the Oneness of the gift of Jesus Christ. His His Name, Amen.

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Ephesians 4:4-7.
