July 24, 2017, Hebrews 1:1-2
Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. Hebrews 1:1-2
God speaks each day and His communication may not be audible. The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. Psalm 19:1-2. God spoke through His prophets in ages past, and NOW, He speaks through the Word, Jesus Christ, His Son. His Law is Love.
Jesus, the Son, radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God. His communication is His Command. His power is beyond measure, and He holds the place of honor at God’s right Hand in Heaven.
His name is above all names. He has the power to cleanse us from our sins. His heritage from God becomes ours, when we follow Jesus. How can we ignore such a gift as salvation? How can we put mere words of man before the radiance and wonder and purity of Jesus? Everything we are, everything we have is given us by God, the Father and Jesus, the Son.
Every time we take a deep breath, praise God, breath gives us life and is from Him. A beautiful praise song’s lyrics are these: You give life, You are love, You bring light to the darkness, You give hope, You restore Every heart that is broken, And great are You, Lord. It’s Your breath in our lungs, So we pour out our praise!
The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names. Hebrews 1:3-4
