July 21, 2017 – Isaiah 61:10

I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10

It matters what we wear. Do we consider what we put on our bodies each day?  Do we consider what we put in our hearts and minds?  It makes a difference.  Ephesians 4:24 gives us direction…Put on your new nature, created to be like God — truly righteous and holy. (Ephesians 4:24) This is our robe of salvation — righteousness.

In Ephesians 6:11, Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.  And God’s armor we are directed to wear is the belt of truth, body armor of God’s righteousness, and shoes of peace coming from the Good News. Put on the shield of faith and the Word of God is our Sword of the Spirit.

How is this possible? Learn to love God with all of our hearts and minds, and love others as Jesus loves.  There is no greater love, no greater love, Than the one You have for me, Lord.

Our Lord God’s justice for all nations of the world is above any ‘justice’ contrived by man.  Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority. I Peter 3:22.

Spring is my favorite season, seeing the greening and buds promising colors unimaginable.  Imagine a perpetual garden of righteousness springing up every where in every heart.  Picture God’s praises bursting from every bloom and new leaf and reaching to the sky.

How great is our God, sing with me, How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God!

The Sovereign Lord will show his justice to the nations of the world. Everyone will praise him! His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring, with plants springing up everywhere. Isaiah 61:11
