July 18, 2018 – Psalm 63:3-6
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. Psalm 63:3-6.
After someone lives on this earth for a time, and then dies, what remains? Evidence of their love lives on. How often I remember my parents, with rejoicing. Yes, they were strict, and I often did not understand how much they loved me. Not only me, I see their love reflected in the hearts of my children as well. This same love continues on generation after generation.
From where does this enduring love come? They learned as Jesus taught them – to love one another. This love does not have ‘outages’ or need ‘recharging’. His love is enduring and worthy of praise!
How often the precious love of Jesus fills my heart with joy overflowing into praise for your goodness. You are my Redeemer, Savior, and Shepherd. I cling to You through countless moments of concern and tears. Joy returns when I hide in the shadow of your wings and your right hand holds me beside You.
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. Psalm 3:3.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Psalm 23:1-3
Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely. Psalm 63:7-8.
