July 16, 2020 – Psalm 119:10-12
With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes! Psalm 119:10-12.
The Word of the Lord is a love letter from God. He not only made us, breathing in His breath, but He also gives us a blueprint for how to live for Him. Pure living begins with this verse in Deuteronomy 6:5. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
In Matthew 22:37, Jesus echoed this command, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Then Jesus added, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39.
When we begin to love others through His Love, we begin to understand their needs and desires. When our ‘story’ is loving others, we begin to delight in the unseen riches of our Lord.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. I Corinthians 13:4-6
Dear Lord God, Help us to love one another with delight, an open heart and open hands. Help me to meditate and think on your Words. Help me, Oh, Lord, to fix my eyes on your ways and your teachings. May my words and thinking become your delight! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
With my lips, I declare all the rules of your mouth. In the way of your testimonies, I delight as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. Psalms 119:13-15.
