July 10, 2020 – Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22.
A burden is that which is carried, a difficulty or obligation. Life is filled with burdens of various kinds. It is how we how we carry the burden that makes the difference. It is Who we share the burden with that will make a burden a time for growing.
The Apostle Paul, a faithful servant of God, asked God to remove the thorn in his flesh three times. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
James, the brother of Jesus, wrote, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4.
Dear Heavenly Father, Teach me, guide me, and lead me. My heart’s song and prayer is, Search me, O God, and know my heart today, Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray, See if there be some wicked way in me, Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5.
But you, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in You. Psalm 55:23.
