July 1, 2015 – Isaiah 26:3-4
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4How do we keep our mind on Jesus in this world? We begin our day with praise. The world and its raucous chaos begins to erode the peace that being with Jesus brings during the day. I remember the verse that used to puzzle me. Pray without ceasing. I Thessalonians 5:17. Then I read the context. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thessalonians 5:16-18Rejoice always, give thanks in all circumstances surround the words – Pray without ceasing. That is the secret of peace — be still and know God in the midst of turmoil, sickness and change. Lean on His Strength. Enjoy the freedom from concern and worry. Revel in trusting Him with all things. Give it all to the Lord who loves each of us beyond measure. His grace is enough. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised! Psalm 113:3. The words in the following verse – give us strength to know that when we suffer for Christ, He showers us with his comfort through Jesus Christ. And why? The comfort from the Father is ours so that we can comfort others. This verse explains how love works… A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. John 13:34All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
