January 8, 2016 – Psalm 89:15

Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. Psalm 89:15The joy of worship provides light and understanding of the presence of the Lord.  The joy of worship is accompanied by the realization of the awesomeness of God, the sacrifice of Jesus and tears, yes, tears that whelm up in the presence of Jesus Christ.Words cannot express the joy of trusting Jesus.  The presence of someone in our lives is fleeting, yet the presence of the Lord God in our hearts remains steadfast.  There is joy that illumines yesterday, today and tomorrow.The power that provides light in our world can be shut off, when we don’t pay the bill or  a transformer that blows or a severe storm.  In the heavenly city of forever there is no need to send a light bill or use the sun or moon, for the glory of God is the power that lights the city with no shadow.Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12Jesus is the Light of the World that lights up the pathway to life everlasting.  All we have to do is choose to follow Jesus.And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. Revelation 21:23
