January 5, 2015 – Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105The B-I-B-L-E is the book for me….remember the song we still sing.  I stand alone on the Word of God!  God’s Word isn’t just a ‘flashlight’ beam to light our way…a feeble wavering light…but a brilliant lamp of faith that carries us through the saddest days, and gives us armor and protects us.The Word of God protects us from fuzzy-headed thinking.  Thinking that takes us out of His light.  And we no longer wear the armor of faith and love.  Memorizing scripture when we are young, helps us when we we grow up, when our hair turns grey, and gives us answers.The best part is that God’s Light can be shared when others see God’s light that shines through us as we walk in the light.  Put on the helmet of salvation, the covering of God’s love, for this leads to light.  And we know the life God wants us to have!  He has a plan for each of us, and that plan does not include walking in darkness.But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. I Thessalonians 5:8
