January 29, 2018 – Psalm 66:16-18
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. Psalm 66:16-18.
Have you ever considered the sounds of earth and wonder what God hears from his creation? Each time I go to the nursing home, I hear the sounds of the residents. I hear constant talking with both nonsensical sounds, and never ending pleas for attention from the nurse. Many simply sit, not seeing, and waiting to be fed or put to bed.
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what He hath prepared for Him that waiteth for Him. Isaiah 64:4 (KJV).
We are so filled with ‘me‘, we can not hear the peace and love God has for us. We turn to God only out of desperation, drowning in a sea of chaos in our souls.
It is when we truly hear God with our hearts, that we begin to pray for His help in Jesus’ Name, we begin to pray to God who is Holy, for forgiveness. God listens and pays attention to our needs. That is when we learn our true identity. We cannot find out who we are from Facebook’s ‘Who I am’ apps. It is only through Jesus Christ we have our true identity!
Praise the Lord! Let all that I am praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. Psalm 146:1-2.
But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. Psalm 66:19-20.
