January 12, 2021 – John 14:15-17
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17.
Pleasing someone we love, is loving them. Love does not end, but is patient and kind, rejoices with truth, endures all things. Love does not envy or rude. This is from I Corinthians 13:4-8. When we say we Love God, and do not please Him, we don’t know how to love.
Jesus is teaching his disciples before He leaves the earth. The phrase, abide in one another, means love in the deepest way.
Dear Heavenly Father, May I abide closely in Jesus, for keeping His commandments creates love for Him, who gives life. I praise you, O, Father God. In the Name of Jesus, may I learn to love! Amen.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. ” John 15: 12-14.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7.
“Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, He it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” John 14:19-21.
