Home, Where our Story Begins

Home is where the Heart
Is….Home, Sweet Home….Families are Forever….Home, Where our Story Begins
…..Home is the Place of Hope!
Being
at home is being in a place where love multiplies.  There are many stories of the desperate search
for home by those displaced in today’s world.
Those without a home are called refugees. I see all the pictures of
those who are searching for a new home because their homes are stolen
away.  I weep.
We
search for the comfort and peace of living in a home, free from strife and
unrest. What makes it so? Sometimes the search lasts a lifetime for nothing
satisfies.  What does having such a home cost?  Where in the world will we find refuge and
escape being refugees?
In
the eleventh chapter of Hebrews is a roll call of those who were promised a
land of plenty – a home – by God himself.
They believed the Creator, the Creator we will never see while on this
earth.
All these people died still believing what
God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it
all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and
nomads here on earth. Obviously people who say such things are looking
forward to a country they can call their own.
 If
they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back.
 But
they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is
not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
 Hebrews 11:13-16.
All these people earned a good reputation
because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.
 For
God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach
perfection without us.
  Hebrews 11:39-40
For we know that when this earthly tent
we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we
will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not
by human hands.  2 Corinthians 5:1
Yet God has made everything beautiful
for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so,
people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.  Ecclesiastes 3:11
Home, Where our Story
Begins…
Our story here on earth is
when we see Jesus for who He is.   The
Savior of Mankind.  The Forgiver of our
sins, the One who gave his life to help us become lovely to God the
Father.  The Lamb, the Shepherd, the Way,
the Truth and Life itself.  The One who
picks us up when we falter.  We have
never seen God, and yet, the scripture, the inspired Word of God –
Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you
don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my
Father.”
John 8:20.  To know Jesus is to know God.  John 10:38b – Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in
the Father.”
“But my life-story is a failure, all I do is sin
and fail and falter!”  That is when you
become even more dear to our LORD!  When
we call on Him in prayer, in the name of Jesus, our story really begins.  We learn to have a relationship with Jesus, a
walking/talking daily conversation.  His
words to us…
My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
  2 Corinthians 12:9
His
Grace is the story of salvation.  Jesus
came and taught and died on the cross and rose again to be taken up to sit on
the right hand of his Father God.  Living
life on the humble side of life is much better than living on the sunny side of
life.  Being thankful and grateful gives
us joy while being complaint-ful and critical fills us with the desire for
wanting more in the moment.
Sharing
what Jesus has done for you and learning more of His Word creates Joy and
Understanding of all that is Holy in our lives.
There are many ways of sharing our Joy.
Living for Him in all things wherever we are brings His Truth ever more
near.
In
adversity, we have more opportunities to live for Him, and He gives us His
strength to be faithful.  It is amazing
to me to see God working in the lives of those near and dear to me.  It is a process.  It is growth.
A child learns to walk and talk and we beam with excitement and
joy.  Imagine how our Father in Heaven
delights in us as we learn to walk in His Way and speak praises, telling of
what the Lord has done for us.
Home
is where we are free to praise Him, tell of His Greatness, rejoice with others
and weep with those who weep. Home in Jesus is where our story really begins
and we grow in grace and maturity in our faith in Him.  Home is where we can serve others in the name
of Jesus.
Home
is the proving ground of learning to walk with Him daily in all things.
† – Now all glory to God, who is able, through
his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might
ask or think.  Ephesian 3:20
† – If the LORD delights in a man’s way; though he stumble, he will not
fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24
† – No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us
and His love is made complete in us.  I John 4:12
† – All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has
blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are
united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in
Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:3-4
† – Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus
Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and
love. 2 John 2:3
