February 6, 2017 – Jude 24-25
Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. Jude 24
These two verses are called the Benediction of the 25 verses that comprise the only chapter of Jude.
All glory to God…what is this glory? It is the beauty of the character of God. God created us with a purpose, to bring glory to Him. “Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.” Isaiah 43:7.
dThe world dangles fleeting fame before us. Only God, brings us into His Glorious Presence without fault only through the great sacrifice of love of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
When we believe we are greater than God, we have forgotten the essence of His Presence in our lives. When praise of men means more than living in peace, love, and forgiveness, we have forgotten Who God is! How long will God be God? Before all time, our ‘now’ in time, and beyond all time. In what ways? His glory is comprised of His majesty, power, and authority.
When God says the Benediction over our last breath, what will He say? Will He bless us for living a life of glory to Him and bring us home? Or will God judge us for trying to ‘be god’ and take away His Glory? Impatience and anger are enemies of the Glory of God. The impatience and anger melt away when we let God be God — and hear this verse….Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen. Jude 25
