Stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. For he issued his laws to Jacob; he gave his instructions to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, Psalm 78:3-5God’s Story is a riveting message that contains faith, hope and love. We are in His story and our children learn the story from us — from the way we live and how we teach them. When we believe that God is and that He created the world, we cannot be written out of God’s story, for we become God’s Children. We have been promised an inheritance of true treasure. That is our destiny when He, and He alone, is our identity. The plot is always redemption from sin and adoption into the Family of God.How do we know when God is our identity? When we do not love this world nor the things it offers. John, in the following portion of God’s Word, writes to the mature in the faith and the young in the faith to reassure us that we have won our battle with the evil one because we know Christ. Jesus is the Son of God and exists from the very beginning. God is not a myth or fiction.May each chapter of God’s story strengthen my story and I find the Streets of Gold and enter the gates of Pearl and Hear God’s Voice entreating, Enter in, Good and Faithful Servant.I am writing to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I am writing to you who are young in the faith because you have won your battle with the evil one. I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one.
