February 25, 2020 – Psalm 97:1-2

The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Psalm 97:1-2.

Our joy is recognizing who rules over all the earth!  The Lord God has power over the earth He created.  No man has this kind of power.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. Psalm 19:1-2.  Clouds surround Him as watches over us.  He hates evil and loves what is right in the hearts of all of us.  This is the beginning of what is right, to know evil and hate it.

He preserves the lives and the souls of His Children, those who believe in Him and love Him. For they live in His Light.  Then Jesus came, sent by Father God, to save us. In John 8:12, Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Light also means understanding the Truth.  The Old Testament is filled with true stories of how God saved the lives  of Abraham, Noah, Jonah, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, and the Children of Israel. The New Testament continues with miracles of healing the lame and the blind, and raising people from the dead, like Lazarus.

He delivers us from evil, when we uphold righteousness.  Rejoice and give Thanks to the Lord!

O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, and give thanks to His holy name! Psalm 97:10-12.
