February 2, 2016 – 2 Corinthians 4:6-7
For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7Let there be light in the darkness….This light is not controlled by a switch. It doesn’t take wires or plug-ins. This is a light that is a choice and a great treasure. This light is through the power of God. We are without this power for we are not God. We are like clay jars that break easily and become shattered. But inside our weakness, when we choose Jesus, we contain a great treasure which is the love He gives us. That treasure is when love and light shine from our hearts. When we invite God’s Spirit to live within us, we are renewed by that Spirit. No matter we if we have troubles and our bodies grow old, we sing, Holy is the Lord, and that is why we never, ever give up for Your love never fails, never gives up, never runs out on me.For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
