February 18, 2016 – Jeremiah 51:15

Jeremiah51-15The Lord made the earth by his power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding he stretched out the heavens.  Jeremiah 51:15The earth was not created with a big bang, by accident, some molecules decided to lump together by chance.  These theories are found in science books…Genesis 1:1-2 plus the first 3 words of verse three – In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  And God said…When?  In the beginning….  How?  God created….  What?  heavens and earth.  Who was there?  The Spirit of God.  What was the Spirit of God doing?  Hovering.  What is God doing?  He said….When you read further in Genesis 1, you might picture God with sweat pouring from his head, a red bandana around his neck, wearing overalls, that carried his earth maker and the heavens maker hanging from his back pockets.  God SAID and everything we see around us today BECAME just from His word! Why?  Because God is God and God has a plan.  Have you ever tried to make a small world where everything works?  Where clouds gather and drop rain on parts of the earth.  Birds know when to fly south and bears know when to fall asleep (hibernate).  Or the human body can see, hear, learn, talk, walk and think.  Scientists delude themselves into thinking they can be gods and create, people think they are as smart as God and know better than God, since Adam and Eve.The last test to know whether you know more than God is this…Can you love like God?  God loves everyone. Do you?  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you.  These things I command you, so that you will love one another. John 15:16-17God loves us for ourselves…He looks at our heart, not how smart we are, or beautiful, or talented.  He never lets us go.  God sent his son to die on the cross, the ultimate gift of love.  He sent shepherds, wise people, to guide us and give us understanding of His great love. And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding.
