February 15, 2016 – Psalm 89:1-2
We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. Psalm 75:1How near is our Lord? Our Lord is as near as we allow Him to be. The Lord gives us life, and stands at the door of our hearts and waits to be invited in. How often we shut him out by not answering the door when He knocks. Other things take priority – the job, having fun, possessions or the latest technology gadget. Before Jesus, People of God followed the Law. For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. Hebrews 7:19. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:17-18What is it we wants most — in this life? We want love, to belong, we want peace and joy. There is only one place where we can find all this — accepting Jesus as our Savior. He loves us so much He gave his life on the cross to be a blood sacrifice, so we may approach God, sinless, and with confidence. His wonders never cease through the ages. Answered prayers, Peace, Joy and Love. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6. Praise Him, Sing Praises to Him and tell others of His Love. Worship and surrender to Him.But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.” Psalm 75:9-10
