February 14, 2019 – Galatians 1:15-16

But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased Him to reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. Galatians 1:15-16.

These are the words of the Apostle Paul.  Oh what joy to know we are created by God Almighty, and He has chosen us before we are born to Love and to serve.  Jehovah sent Jesus to love us.  We love each other because He loved us first. I John 4:19.

How did Jesus love?  What is the true meaning of love?  Jesus had compassion on others.  He was a teacher of giving and serving to the point that the Son of God became the blood sacrifice for our sins to make us righteous and forgiven before God.   We are forgiven because Jesus gave His Life on the cross.

When we realize our old self is gone, and Jesus lives within us, we begin truly living.  When we love others more than ourselves and pray for someone to love and to care for, Christ lives within us.  When we think of ourselves first, there is no room for others, or for Jesus.  I Corinthians 13:4-7  teaches what love is. We can use these verses to test the way we love. Verse 7 says,  Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

The last verse in this chapter gives us the importance to Love. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.  Verse 13.

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.  So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.  Galatians 2:20.
