February 13, 2019 – Psalm 5:7-8
Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; I will worship at Your Temple with deepest awe. Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make Your Way plain for me to follow. Psalm 5:7-8.
The beginning of this chapter tells us David pleaded to God in prayer. “Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God. for I pray to no one but You.” David prays and worships God with deep awe! An attitude of respect, honor, and wonder describes the awe with which David worshiped God.
In all humility, we approach God, when we try to count the stars. With joy we bring in the harvest, knowing God created the rain, the sun, the seeds we plant in the earth He created. In thanksgiving, we praise God when He answers our prayers. We plead for our Lord God to lead us and our children in the right path day by day. There are no side roads leading to God, only the strait and narrow road!
It is with joy we follow You and find refuge in You, Oh, Lord. You protect us with a shield of Love and we sing praises to You. Then God sent Jesus. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12.
But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread Your protection over them, that all who love Your name may be filled with joy. For You bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with Your shield of love. Psalm 5:11-12.
