February 10, 2017 – Psalm 42:5

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:5

When the ‘Whys’ in our lives drown out our Hope in God, it is time to Praise Him with fervor.  When doubts give birth to a resounding why, it is time…to let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.  Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:23-24.

This new nature includes personal renewal of the heart.  Our Lord God renews our hope and cheer; guides us to right paths – bringing honor to his name; gives a clean heart – renewing a loyal spirit; your comfort gives renewed hope and cheer, and God gives us breath – and life is created! When we obey His commandments, He renews our lives with His goodness. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles!  Psalm 103:5

What is our response to the Lord who pours his unfailing love covers us? Do we disobey and dishonor Him? Do we complain and whine? Or do we choose to sing songs of praise to Him,  pray to God with our whole hearts, and honor Him with our thoughts and actions? I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness. Psalm 119:40
