December 28, 2015 – Revelations 21:6

And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. Revelations 21:6It is finished!   Glorious words!  I see in my memory my mother exclaiming, It is finished, when she finished sewing a coat.  A housewife can never be sure that housecleaning ‘is finished’, for there is always another cobweb or dust bunny lurking in the shadows.Jesus said, “It is finished!” and  He bowed his head and gave up His Spirit.  In his Words, He proclaimed victory over sin and death.  Jesus made a Bridge of Love for everyone who follows Him, to be God’s children.Jesus was at the beginning of creation and when He comes again, He will be at the end.  Jesus is the Alpha and Omega.  Romans 8:39 says –No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.Sometimes we want to return to being children again – to enjoy the shelter of our parents’ love and care.  When we choose Jesus, we have chosen being a child of God.  It is a place of heavenly security that is out of this world. “All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.”  Revelation 3:5What do we give up to belong to Jesus?  Worry, Chaos, Hate, Competition, Drifting from one pleasure to another…never being satisfied or the sense of being lost is what we lose when we belong to Jesus.  We gain a life of love, joy, peace, serving and being able to forgive.  We gain a new beginning every day when we choose Jesus.
