December 26, 2017 – I Peter 4:10
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. I Peter 4:10.
God gives and gives – gifts all year around to us. His Love is all around us. Without Him, the world loses, and all the people in it lose. Why is He so generous with His Gifts? So that we pat ourselves on a job well done? No, He gives His gifts simply to glorify Him.
How often do we see our successes as something we did alone? That is called pride. Proverbs 29:23 – Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.
What kind of gifts does God give? The gift of speaking and the gift of helping others. In what way are we to speak? ‘Speak as though God Himself were speaking through you!‘ His Words, not ours, are to be used. Where will we find these words? In the Bible, we will find words that direct our thinking and our words to others. “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34-35.
When we love others, helping others is the next step. “Do it with all the strength and energy God supplies.” Why do these things? To bring glory to God, through Jesus Christ!!! That is our purpose in life.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus teaches, Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. I Peter 4:11
