December 24, 2015 – Psalm 25:5
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25:5This verse isn’t for one time or one day, but no matter how old we become, we can say this verse. When we think we are leading and able to teach others, we have lost sight of the God who saves us.Have you ever heard the word humility? Humility means lack of pride. Someone once said,“True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.”All day long I put my hope in God. It’s like wearing your everyday shoes. No matter what is happening, we trust God for we understand in our hearts that being without God in our hearts, there is no hope. We can have muscles of faith, love and trust in God. Not physical muscles, but spiritual muscles. One of the best ways to exercise our spiritual muscles is to constantly in touch with God.But how can I do this, you ask. Easy. When you hit a home run or win a relay race, thank the Lord. When you play a song perfectly or make all the right moves in a dance recital, thank the Lord. When someone brags about you — thank the Lord. It isn’t you, it is how God made you and you are strong and courageous in His strength alone. This day, and for all of 2016, remember your strength comes from your hope in Jesus Christ alone. Give thanks. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. I Chronicles 16:34. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20.
