December 23, 2020 – John 1:32-34

And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on Him. I myself did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”  John 1:32-34.

Isaiah the prophet prophesied the coming of the Messiah. The Angels came to the Shepherds and announced the birth of Jesus. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  Luke 2:11. As Jesus began His ministry, John baptized Jesus.

After Jesus died on the cross, and buried, God raised Him up. And when He had said these things, as they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him out of their sight.  And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,  and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11.

Dear Father in Heaven, Help me to believe and follow Jesus every moment of my life and bear witness of Him.  I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

It is when I ‘behold, the Lamb of God’, will I know Him. Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.  Psalm 54:4.

The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.  John 1:35-37.
