December 23, 2015 – I Corinthians 13:7
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. I Corinthians 13:7Where does one find this kind of love? A steadfast forever kind of love that will always be in our lives? A love that makes us grow in love, understanding, patience and joy every day?A love that forgives and never fails. A love that we can depend on? Where is this love? It is in Jesus. Leaves fade and fall, flowers shrivel up and die. Parental love is often imperfect, though well-meaning. Spousal love is often imperfect. The only love that remains is what we find in Jesus. The lyrics just below, describe the love of Jesus. We can only love like Jesus when we live for and with Jesus in our being. Your love never fails, it never gives up – It never runs out on me – Your love never fails, it never gives up – It never runs out on me – Your love never fails, it never gives up – It never runs out on me….(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_KXsMCJgBQ)Further in I Corinthians, we find out just how long love lasts…and which is the greatest. God showed us how much He loves — us! “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. At Christmas we celebrate the birth of that great love on earth. From believing and trusting, we live expecting the second coming of the King Jesus who gathers those who believe to LIVE in LOVE forever more.Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
