December 18, 2020 – Psalm 8:3-4
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3-4.
How great is our awe and wonder when we first see God’s Creation! Then when we realize the extent of His Power, the depth of His Mercy, and the far-reaching depth of His Love, our awe grows deeper.
We add our voices to the query, what is man, that you care for us? And then we read this verse, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16-17.
man brings corruption and lies into this world, yet God has given man dominion over the works of His Hands. How then shall we live? Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:12-13.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth! Without You, I can do nothing. I humbly pray that you give me the strength and wisdom to love with forgiveness. I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; You have put all things under his feet. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth! Psalm 8:5-6, 9.
