December 17, 2018 – Micah 5:2-3
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf. The people of Israel will be abandoned to their enemies until the woman in labor gives birth. Then, at last, his fellow countrymen will return from exile to their own land. Micah 5:2-3.
Every time I open my planner for my week, I think in terms of minutes, hours, and days. Our Father in Heaven plans for eons of time. He places people in times and locations as He has His purpose for us.
As daylight creeps across the horizon, I am reminded of the words at beginning of Luke 2 in King James Version – “And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.” You can be sure God is setting the stage for His plans to be carried out. There are 398 occasions in the Old Testament of KJV, and 65 in the New Testament where we find these words. In Isaiah 7, we find more of God’s plans.
Then Isaiah said, “Listen well, you royal family of David! Isn’t it enough to exhaust human patience? Must you exhaust the patience of my God as well? All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). Isaiah 7:13-14.
“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” Revelation 4:11
The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35.
