December 16, 2016 – Revelation 21:3-4
I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:3-4As John is given these words by the Holy Spirit to write, does his hand shake with the power of the message? Do tears of awe trickle down his cheek as he writes? When John sees the evil in the world around him, can he understand the message from God?Jesus came to earth to give us an understanding of the unseen God. No longer will God speak from a burning bush or through visions, or hidden by clouds. How will we know? A loud shout announcing that God is living with his children – being with his people – those who endured on the earth living faithfully for Him.God has brought us through sorrow, death, and pain. No more tears of sorrow, angst or pain, Our loving God wipes away the heartaches we endured on earth. They are gone forever. The words that come from the throne of God give us assurance and hope, “Look, I am making everything new!” This begins with Jesus! So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:11In this world of ‘fake news’, guarantees that don’t last, there is only one Being, sitting on the Throne, we can trust. God himself said to John — “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” There is no danger of God’s Words having a time limit. Can we always understand? No. We simply trust and obey, and praise our Lord for He IS.And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5
