December 15, 2017 – Hebrews 11:8
It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8.
Just as Mary obeyed, although she didn’t know what would happen in her life, when the angel announced she would bear in a virgin birth, the Lord Jesus, Abraham obeyed God in faith.
Faith and obedience leads us on a journey beyond our understanding when we walk with our Lord. Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:14.
“Our father is Abraham!” they declared. “No,” Jesus replied, “for if you were really the children of Abraham, you would follow his example. Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I am!” John 8:39, 58.
I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. Colossians 2:2.
This Christmas, enjoy the gift from Jesus Christ of Faith, Joy, and Peace leading to the city built and design by God, whose foundation is designed and built by God!
And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. Hebrews 11:9-10
