August 7, 2018 – Joshua 1:8

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”  Joshua 1:8

Discerning who belongs to God is easy, for John 8:47 begins, “Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God.”

Proverbs 4:4-5 – My father taught me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.”

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12.

What gives us strength?  What gives us courage?  God’s Word is sure and steadfast.  Wherever we go, God is with us.  How many times did Adam remember with longing  to once again walk with God in the Garden of Eden.  We have a ‘Garden of God’s Words’ to walk with Him.  The hymn, In the Garden, reminds us of His Promise.  And He walks with me, and He talks with me. And He tells me I am His own.  And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known.

For the Lord Your God is with you, wherever you go!

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.
