August 5, 2020 – I John 2:4-6

Whoever says “I know Him” but does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in Him, but whoever keeps His word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in Him: whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked. I John 2:4-6.

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. James 4:17.  What is the righteous way of living?  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17.

Who showed us the way of living on this earth?  Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  Help us learn to live righteously by serving and loving others.  He spoke the truth. There was no sin in Him. He gave His life that we might be forgiven of our sins.  Forgiven, we will not live in shame, and hide from Him.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him. John 14:6-7.

Dear Lord God of All, I rest in your Saving Grace, and rejoice in your Loving Sacrifice.  Help me walk in righteousness day by day.  Teach me to love others and serve them.  Great are You, Lord, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

And now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears we may have confidence and not shrink from Him in shame at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him. I John 2:28-29.
