August 31, 2017 – John 14:1-2
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:1-2.
How important is a promise to you? What does it take make a friend? What happens when your friend does not keep a promise?
It takes trust in another person for them to be your friend. A promise between friends is the test of the strength of the friendship. A promise is a matter of life and death. What does Jesus say about being our friend? My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:12-14.
Jesus gave us an invitation to come, not just for a ‘sleep-over’, but to live in His House. How did he send our invitation? All He wants us to love, is love others as He does. He died as a sacrifice for our sins because of His great love for each of us. When we accept the invitation, he sends us gifts beyond compare. We become a new creature and we receive the gift of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
He is preparing a place for us. Can we believe Jesus? John 14:6 – Jesus told him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
Will Jesus change his mind? And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. Revelation 21:5-7
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” John 14:3-4
