Psalm143.8Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you.
Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I run to you to hide me.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Psalm 143:8-10As I read these verses, I wonder why it is so difficult to give ourselves to the Lord — all of us.  Hearing long ago that soldiers were baptized while holding sword above the waters, I wonder if we do that too.  We withhold that which is dearest to us from God, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  We withhold our money, our leisure time, our ‘belongings’ from God who gives us life, and in Him we have life more abundantly. We are unwilling students to learn your will for our lives.  We hide with our heads in the sand of avarice and greed.  And we wonder why our heart tugs at us with unease and guilt and shame.I love the following two verses — we take God on faith and the witness of his unfailing love and faithfulness through Jesus Christ.  The Unique One, Jesus, is near to the Father’s Heart.  He testified to us just who God is.  Not any other name is mentioned here, just Jesus.  And only in Him can we be saved.Picture all the side roads, exits, that appear in life to take us from God’s path.  Only in Him, can we find our way.  He is the only Map to Heaven that we need.  Oh, how He Loves us….This morning I heard David Crowder’s song…. And we are His portion and He is our prize,Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes, / If his grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking. And Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss, / And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,I don’t have time to maintain these regrets, / When I think about the way…He loves us, / Oh, how He loves us, / Oh, how He loves us, / Oh, how He loves.Yeah, He loves us, / Oh, how He loves us, / Oh, how He loves us, / Oh, how He loves. From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:16-18
