August 23, 2017 – Philippians 2:9

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names… Philippians 2:9.

In this age of cynicism we doubt truth and trust lies.  We say we want a sure ‘thing’. Yet, when we discount Jesus, our lives are empty.

God gave Jesus a place of highest honor, His Name is above all other names.  This includes all the ‘gods’ men devise to ‘follow’.   Whenever I consider Jesus, I am filled with awe and wonder.  Reading God’s Word, simply increases my faith in the light of the world.

Jesus was born with the Star in the Heavens, Angels proclaiming his birth, with the message, Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men! Shepherds came to worship and Wisemen traveled from afar to worship and bring gifts.  When Jesus was baptized, God announced, “This is my dearly beloved Son!”

Jesus was reviled and persecuted by those who didn’t believe He is the Son of God.  He was crucified, buried, and rose on the 3rd day! How do we know?  My favorite verses are in Acts 1…he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.  As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”

When Jesus comes again, and HE WILL, every knee shall bow.  And we will all declare Jesus Christ is Lord!  And I ask, Why wait, why not NOW to declare Jesus Christ is our Lord?

…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10-11.
