August 21, 2017 – Romans 8:16-17

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Romans 8:16-17.

As I ponder these words, I hesitate at the word suffering and consider the heartache of our world today.  Each person has a hurt, either from others or from decisions made.  Oh, we try to hide behind bravado, but it’s there.  Where is the comfort, where is the release?  What is the answer?

A voice sings within me….Jesus is the answer, for the world today, Above Him there’s no other, Jesus is the way…lyrics from a song a long time a go.  It continues… I know that you’ve got mountains, That you think you cannot climb, I know your skies looks so dark, You think the sun will never ever shine, But in case you don’t know it, I tell you God’s Word is true, Everything He has promised, I know He will do it for you.

What has God promised?  When His Spirit joins with ours, we are heirs with Christ Jesus to God’s Glory!  Every butterfly, every rainbow and drop of rain is waiting eagerly for that future day when all tears are wiped away.  Every knee will bow, every heart will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

We will sing with the angels – Jesus is the answer,  for the world each day, Above Him there is no other….only Jesus is the Way!

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Romans 8:18-19.
