The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken. What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord. Psalm 33:10-12Our son, Paul, and I had a conversation today. He speaks in quotes. His latest is, “A person is so worried about doing the right thing, that he always does the wrong thing.“Multiply that person by a nation of people ‘doing the wrong thing’, afraid to offend, perpetually picking at others’ transgressions and you end up a nation where right is wrong and wrong is right.God intervenes and negates the plans of men who have forgotten that God is the King over all the earth and its people — His own creation. Control is nebulous and fleeting for man. Last night my dear husband taught me that. As His care-giver I feel I must be in control. Awakened by the doorbell at midnight, I was gripped with fear of the unknown who rang the doorbell, knocked at the door and tried the doorknob. I couldn’t see who was on the porch. Heart-pounding I made a call to 911. The lights flashed on the porch, and through the blinds I could see a familiar shape. Somehow my dear husband had awakened, slipped out the front door locking it behind him without me hearing him.The light illuminated the cause for my fear. Once more I realized that trusting God with all aspects of my life is sweet surrender. Jesus is all the illumination I need. He makes my pathway clear. Multiply my understanding by the understanding of all peoples of all nations and there will be peace. For God is the King, the ruler, over all the earth, and there is nothing we can control but our praise to him, our prayers to Him and giving our lives to Him.For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a psalm.
God reigns above the nations, sitting on his holy throne.
The rulers of the world have gathered together with the people of the God of Abraham.
For all the kings of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere. Psalm 47:7-9
