Philippians4-8bDon’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:6-8When I was a young girl and couldn’t sleep, Mom would say, “Think about beautiful things.”  I tried and tried to think, what could be beautiful?  Mother suggested flowers, the smell of rain or baked bread, or hearing some beautiful music.  The act of just simply thinking would often make me sleepy.  It is interesting how our mind can be so filled with the unlovely and impure thoughts that our ability to fall asleep drops to such a low level. Now, thinking about God’s love, His great and wonderful gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and His faithfulness sets my mind at ease.  ‘If God is for us, who can be against us?”  The eyes are the entrance of evil.  Children learn from the behaviors they see.  Are our lives, our behaviors, our words a reflection of God or the evil one?  Through faith in God, the way we think can be changed.  Concentrate on His Word, emulate the goodness we see in God in humility and we become His.Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.  Romans 12:2
