August 16, 2019 – Psalm 94:12-14

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law, to give him rest from days of trouble until a pit is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage. Psalm 94:12-14.

The ‘potholes of life’ are many.  There are Times when we are discouraged and have lost all hope of anything going well for us. We remember Job who lost all hope and yet remained faithful.  Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11.

Stand firm in the faith, Trust the One who gives life. Trapped between the Egyptians and the Red Sea, Moses counseled the Israelites. “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Exodus 14:14.

Then Jesus came. Our Lord’s steadfast love built a hedge against evil, and the set-backs of life to cheer us on to Victory in Jesus. And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.  Philippians 1:6.

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy,  complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.  Philippians 2:1-2.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  Psalm 119:105

If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. your consolations cheer my soul. Psalm 94:17-19.
