In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:11-13The beautiful gown of a flower gives us joy – and we rejoice, filled with the feeling of peace and goodness. God chose us, all of us, as His holy, beloved people. The ‘you must’ makes our ability to choose as the deciding factor. Will we clothe ourselves in dirty and torn rags or will we choose to grace other’s souls with the vision of our Mercy, Kindness, Patience, Humility ad Gentleness? On my back deck a flowerpot holds bright red geraniums, but what really catches my eye each time I peer outside? The simply daisy-like yellow blooms that dance midst the geraniums. Just as God’s holy child exhibits a reflection of God’s character, the yellow flower is clothed with Mercy, Kindness, Patience, Humility and Gentleness. There is no room for offenses to grow in God’s Garden of His Holy Children. Each flower is watered with a river of forgiveness. And the breeze of love frolics through the their bright faces reflecting the Lord’s song of praise.Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.” You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever. Psalm 30:10-12
